Western Wei Dynasty
The Winged Horse first appeared on stone reliefs in the Han Dynasty, and some related images have no wings. The horse in this picture is flying in the void with wings growing from its shoulders. Its whole body is blue and the wings are ocher red. This is the earliest Winged Horse in Dunhuang murals.
